Key findings:

Peroni (23%) and Birra Moretti (20%) round out the top three nationally.
Thatchers is the only brand to be the top over-indexing brand in two regions, standing out in both the South West and Wales.
As summer draws to a close there are only a few weeks left for Britons to enjoy sitting in a sunny beer garden in the evening with a drink. But which brands are UK consumers most likely to consider, and how do preferences differ around the country? YouGov BrandIndex data shows the brands consumers consider when they are next in the market to purchase beer or cider and which names over-index across individual regions.
Guinness is the UK’s most considered beer and cider brand
Across the UK, Guinness ranks first for Consideration among beer and cider brands, with 27% of UK adults saying they would consider purchasing it.
Peroni follows in second place at 23%, while Birra Moretti ranks third at 20%. Cider brand Kopparberg takes fourth place with a Consideration score of 18%, ahead of San Miguel at 17%.
Thatchers is the second cider brand to feature in the top 10, ranking sixth at 16%. Corona (15%), Stella Artois (15%), Heineken (13%) and Rekorderlig (12%) complete the national ranking.
Regional standouts: Which beer and cider brands over-index across the UK?
While the national ranking shows which beer and cider brands have the highest Consideration overall, the regional data identifies the brand in each region whose Consideration over-indexes most compared with the UK average.
Kopparberg is the top over-indexing brand in the North East, while Estrella Damm holds that position in the North West and Cruzcampo in Yorkshire and the Humber.
In the Midlands, Old Mout over-indexes most in the East Midlands and Carling in the West Midlands. Aspall stands out in the East of England, while Camden Town Brewery is the top over-indexing brand in the South East and Heineken in London.
